the most recent manifestation of the memento mori conversion ring project I seem to have going over here. a wearable prayer about being present and grateful and aware of our mortality, rather than floating through this lifetime with the illusion of forever ahead of us. this one in particular reminds me of the “for death do is part is for quitters” greeting card, which offers an engagement ring possibility for those into that kind of forever partnership.
per usual, this is crafted from an antique 14k fraternal pin (eyes swapped for diamonds, hardware removed, greek enameled letters removed) and a vintage 14k and diamond band. this is the first and maybe last eternity band version

weighs 2.8 grams
between size 5.5 to 5.75 (hard to know exact size because it isn't sitting flush against the ring sizing mandrel) — it would be possible to size this ring up, but it would require adding length at the base of the band and breaking the eternity style of the diamonds
C O N D I T I O N
in good vintage condition
this is a conversion ring and there are inconsistencies in gold color in the solder joints where the band meets the skull
ring is bent very slightly out of round, but was made this way because the back of the skull is flat, not curved —I'm approximating the size given the shape of the band and the space between the band and the ring mandrel
surface scratches consistent with age
significant wear to the enameled teeth and nose
